Reports To: Director of Client Services

  • 1st shift: 5:00 am – 1:30 pm
  • 2nd shift: 1:30 pm to 10 pm

Hours: M-F, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Compensation: $40,000 – $55,000

The Mailworks is a woman owned family business specializing in the creation and distribution of direct mail campaigns for a nation-wide customer base. The Mailworks operates 24 hours a day, usually 6 days a week. The team of 80+ employees range from executives, marketing specialists, designers, developers, and production workers.  

The Graphic Designer for Client Services supports the team by producing engaging and innovative designs that meet client or company needs and adhere to direct mail best practice guidelines. This position requires creativity, technical proficiency, and attention to detail to transform creative briefs into compelling direct mail solutions.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties:

CREATIVE DESIGN

  • Produce creative designs for a variety of direct mail projects, ensuring alignment with client brand standards.
  • Translate creative briefs and feedback into visually compelling solutions.
  • Conceptualize and create industry-specific creative catalogs that showcase product options, services, and campaign ideas tailored to industry trends.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to client brand guidelines if provided
  • Create and maintain design thumbnails for designed products
  • Stay updated with industry trends and apply insights to create innovative and effective designs

DESIGN FILE PREPARATION AND QUALITY CONTROL

  • Prepare and format design files for print production, adhering to pre-press specifications.
  • Assist in the creation and testing of templates in PresConnect & Customers Canvas to support variable data and automated workflows.
  • Perform quality checks on designs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with product standards.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Graphic Designer and production team to ensure seamless execution.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with the Client Services team to understand project requirements and deadlines.
  • Incorporate feedback into revisions promptly and effectively.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to ensure deliverables are on track.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Learn and apply new tools and techniques to improve design workflows and outputs.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to expand knowledge and skills.
